IVO props always get some people talking good or bad. Personally I feel they are good bang for the buck, but they do have some shortcomings. One that always bugged me, no actually I hated it, was the slip ring arrangement. I wish I had some current pics of the original set-up, but those that are interested in this will probably already know it well. It prevented use of the rear spinner bulkhead, or required using IVO's goofy little spinner. I wanted to move the slip-rings to a mount on the backside of the rear spinner bulkhead. The pics at the link below, show what I did. https://goo.gl/photos/oV3uphNoCapBwPpE6 The first pic was just a proof-of-concept that I made on my wood lathe. Next I made it out of a piece of micarta (electrical insulating board) which I cut some grooves into then had some brass rings machined to fit. I drilled and tapped a shallow screw hole into the back of each ring and have a brass stud insulated as it passes through the bulkhead. I also took apart the drive motor and replaced the lead wires with longer ones rather than just splicing and extension as due to centrifugal force, I didn't want even the extra weight of a splice on those wires as well as the stress points of a splice. I also didn't care for the IVO brushes and holder design, so I found that the replacement brushes for a Honda generator are far more robust as well as cheap and plentiful, I bought 5 for $5. So I redesigned this mount as well. As undoubtedly there will be some sharp eyes out there and will question this, the ring of rivets that hold the micarta to the bulkhead have several evenly spaced rivets that are inset closer to the outer slip ring. This was due to the original set of holes that I used when I first mounted the ring, but before I determined the required ring diameters. Also one rivet is missing as this is the location where the magnet is mounted for the prop speed sensor.
