James - thank you for the suggestion.  I would welcome a collaborative effort to expedite the install of these engines.  If interested, we can exchange personal emails.  Where are you based at?  I'm in Newport, RI out of KUUU.  Below is my personal email:

Congrats Luis,

If it were me (and I am in the same boat as you having recently acquired a similar 20B package), I would start with a rotary compression check to gauge the health of your engine core.  I posted my results a few weeks back.  Mine also had the rear side housing modified (original owner cut off one of the transmission mounting bosses), so I will probably be replacing that with a new one that came in the package from Bobby.

I am also thinking about what to do about the water pump.  In my case, I also need to acquire injectors, fuel rails, and coils.  And I need to fabricate or purchase some kind of motor mount and oil pan.  I am considering a plugs up orientation for the motor, but nobody responded when I asked about suggested motor mount designs to run that way.  Cozygirrls sell a a bed mount plate and engine mount starter frame (to weld up your own mount) as well as a full engine mount for Cozy pusher installations.  This might work in a Velocity?  Using their parts is for normal orientation for the motor (not plugs up) and will necessitate I acquire an oil pan.  For plugs up orientation it looks like fabricating an oil pan from aluminum plate is the way to go.  I am going for tractor configuration for an RV10.

Thank you guys for your insight!!  I'll be picking up the engine in April and start work on it over the summer.  Any recommendations as to what is of highest priority to address?

Dear Collective,

It is with great joy that I can finally say I am officially a rotary head as of this weekend.  I've purchased a 20B along with PSRU, turbo, injectors, pumps and various other peripherals.  I do have a question which came up during various back and forth communication/negotiations.  It regards the water pump, there was talk of modifying the stock pump but the reasons, method of modification and long term results were a little hard for me to understand.  Can someone from the group shed some light from your experience in this area.

Regards,
Luis Luciano
