No problem - no "confusion".  Could we say that a "pressurized old
Mazda/newer Ford" expansion tank fills both functions, "purge" and
"expansion"?

The picture you mention - was it of a long shiney box mounted fore & aft on
side of engine compartment?  It and your expansion tank are both
pressurized?  With the [air] "purge" function separated from the pressurized
"expansion tank", the "purge" box must be the equivalent of Lynn Hannover's
"swirl pot" that he's referred to many times.

Sorry, what I have been referring to as an "expansion tank" is actually a
"purge tank".   My purge tank looks like the one in the picture that Paul
Connor
posted yesterday.

It also has a connection just below the cap for a small 1/4" line.  I've
connected
that to an "expansion tank".

Sorry if this has caused any confusion.
