Hi Andrew, the Fiberfrax I used is between 1/8 and ¼ inch or 3-6mm, came in a rolled sheet … you should have room.

Thanks for that Jeff, looks interesting, which fiberfrax product did you use? I'm guessing DS Paper would be lightest, but what thickness? I've got about 25mm space between exhaust and cowl but am very reluctant
to add much more weight.

Andrew,
That radiator looks like my first install attempt except I fed it with a duct that came in on the lower
left side instead of underneath.
I doubt foil will solve your blistering paint problem. That exhaust is hot! I have a muffler that is
over 15MM from the cowl and with foil on the cowl the paint still blisters.
