I am using the stock Renesis exhaust manifold which is cut off at the level of just prior to the flywheel. The manifold is 3 inches in diameter at that point. I welded a 3 inch stainless pipe there which does a 180 bend with a radius of probably 4 inches. It then goes into a 3 inch in/out DNA muffler, then 3 inch ss exhaust the rest of the way out. My EGTs have always been this high, even when I didn't have a muffler in the same setup. I have considered that the probes or the EM-2 may be incorrect, but I think that there is not much calibration required for a K type thermocouple. I think the probes are just closer to the engine than most.
