Kelly, I had a machinist friend do the re-drive, he
was advised by gearbox engineers who work for Eaton Corp. A grove was cut
under the propshaft bearings to make a return route for the oil being pumped by
the tapered nose bearing towards the propshaft seal. In the pictures you
will see the seal retainer that was installed and in one picture the clear
plastic hose is connected between the connectors for the radiator to check that
there is flow between the connection points. Initially I had a hose
connected from the fill plug hole and the drain hole to a tank on the firewall
and the redrive pumped the oil into the tank and none returned to the gearbox,
the oil was pumped out the tank vent onto the firewall, so I must make sure that
the oil is circulating the right way before the finial pluming to the oil
cooler. You can see the overflow tank on top of the redrive and no oil
came out when this was used as the vent and not the firewall tank vent.
That is were I'm at, at this point in time.
