Judging from the color o= f the impacted rotor face, I would say aluminum. Could be weld swarf from re= locating the secondary injectors on the aluminum intake manifold I fabricate= d. It's a tuned ram type that I made before I decided to turbocharge. I have= access to a bore scope type computer camera that I hope to squirm down the c= urved intake tubes, to see if I messed up there Sent from my iPhone On Jun 19, 2013, at 7:17 AM, "Ed Anderson" wrote= : > Scott stated the compressor side of the turbo was OK, the photo was of the= turbine side. Go to his website and check them out. I had apex seals break o= n me (the stock ones are fairly brittle) and thereafter went with RWS apex s= eas and never had any more problems. >=20 > Ed >=20 >=20 >=20 > -------------------------------------------------- > From: "Bill Bradburry" > Sent: Wednesday, June 19, 2013 8:20 AM > To: "Rotary motors in aircraft" > Subject: [FlyRotary] Re: Blown engine >=20 >> It seems something was ingested thru the turbo.
