I sure have been there. REally sucks. What way your peak manifold pressure when you gave her the throttling? Sounds like you at least got some FOD into the turbine. Besides apex seals, the side seals can break too. I have never broken an apex seal but have broken 2 side seals. It could also possibly be FOD from further up in the intake system that got injested.
