I am with Skysmith as well.  They got me insured with no hassle and a reasonable rate.  A lot of Lancair drivers can not get insurance due to the poor accident rate for the Lancair 4.  I had no problem with the Legacy even with the Mazda engine.  They were happy that I was using Tracy’s parts tho…

Yup,

I use skysmith too.  Liability only does not seem to cost me any more that the Lyc guys pay.  They also helped me out with formation flying and racing at Reno.

Contact Skysmith Insurance in Akenny, Iowa. They brokered a policy for  mine and have several others. They are familiar with Tracy’s products

Subject: [FlyRotary] Insurance Question

Has anyone experienced a problem when trying to insure their aircraft when it's running a rotary?

I just got a call from EAA (which I figured would be a good place to start) and they didn't seem to like any rotaries unless they were tagged "PowerSport."

I don't think those guys are even in business anymore ..... are they?
