William,
There is (was) a brass plug at the bottom (oil pan side) of the rear iron that leads to the top oil galley...........That plug was drilled out of my rear hsg
and with a 12 inch bit (I forget the exact size) and I drilled through the thin cast iron web separating the two openings of the oil filter mount.........I then
blocked the iron bottom opening and both oil filter mount openings with pipe plugs............I then used a remote oil filter and fed oil to the stock oil
inlet at the bottom of my 1988 13B rear iron............The 1993 and up FD and Cosmo rear irons and also the Renesis (I believe) feed oil to the stock
oil filter adapter..........FWIW

Lynn,

Any idea how Bruce achieved the "cast iron" appearance where the left mount screw hole has apparently been ground away?  Here's a photo of what an FC or FD oil filter mount pad should look like.

Bruce did that to all of his rebuilds. How he connected the inner and outer galleries I do not know. It was to make more room under the cowl, rather than have the oil filter sticking up so high.
The outer gallery must be pressurized for the oil pressure relief valve to work. Look for another set screw on the side where he connected the inner and outer galleries. If this is correct, you can use the stock oil pressure port. I like a block on top of the stock filter adaptor stand (removed in your case) so I can measure oil temp going into the rear stationary gear. (The inner gallery).
That also connects to the alignment dowels to supply oil to the front stationary gear. The dowels are the upper oil supply gallery for the front iron. The set screws are threaded plugs.
