I finally got my engine rebuilt ... lot's of accessories to be added yet but the core is done. I had written an article for the local EAA Chapter about my experiences, in which I described the engine as about 1 cubic foot; the attachment
shows that nicely.
I replaced both rotors and stationary gears due to bearing damage as well as the center and rear housing due to metal impregnation from the bearing material; lapping would probably repair the housings but I didn’t want to spend the time. One rotor also had
side seal groove compression, from passing over the metal deposited on the iron faces. The front housing, both rotor housings, the e-shaft, apex and corner seals were all reusable.
