One rebuild a couple years ago I decided that RTV was not good enough and I installed an o-ring with plastic recessed washer ala Bruce Turrintine's video. Well, that lasted about a month before I had low oil pressure issues and had to remove the front cover. I put RTV back in and have had no problems since. To add insult to injury, after loosing my engine over Pearland Regional = Airport (LVJ) a few weeks ago, which we = seem to be able to attribute to some gunk found in the Mistral fuel rail cl= ogging the small return orifice, I am also having low oil pressure AGAIN.=A0 I have yet to pull the front c= over, however, I am leaping to the conclusion that the front cover=A0o-ring= is causing the problem.=A0 I have tried to address this issue several time= s now.=A0 I have=A0installed the extra support ring provided by Maztatrix.=A0 = I use no gasket and still have a problem.

=A0

Similar=A0to you, I installed a small tube in the passage last ti= me I messed with this to hopefully prevent the oil ring blowing out....if I= =A0understand=A0correctly due to cold start pressure.=A0 Howe= ver, unlike you, mine was just pressed in aluminum tube modified to fit with holes drilled in the tube to still allo= w flow if the tube dislodged.

=A0

How is your modification working?=A0 What thoughts do you, or others, ha= ve?

=A0

I think I know the other things that could cause low pressure and do not= think they are the issue (such as the pump retaining key slipping out, pre= ssure regulator falling out as it safety tied etc).=A0 It is a new oil pump= replaced the last time this problem happened.

=A0

I=A0hopefully will get out to the hangar I r= ented at=A0LVJ tomorrow and remove the c= over to know more but am curious about your success or lack of.

=A0

Thanks
