Chris, good job and glad you made it onto the runway= you had =E2=80=A6 check fuel system (return and venting), oil lines, acces= sory belts, water pump, alternator,=E2=80=93 keep us posted as to findings.=

At 100 hours TT, experienced a Lycoming eat an exhau= st valve =E2=80=A6 a very shaky situation; fortunately I had just turned ba= se and throttled back =E2=80=A6 it pays to fly tight circuits =E2=80=93 jus= t in case.

Ed, based on your system, I=E2=80=99ll take =C2=BC c= redit for last year=E2=80=99s cornfield harvest =E2=80=A6 I landed just =E2= =80=9Canywhere=E2=80=9D myself but the airplane didn=E2=80=99t fare so well= =E2=80=A6 progressing with the rebuild.

But being 5 miles away from the runway at 1500=E2=80= =99 isn=E2=80=99t the same as 5 miles away at 8000=E2=80=99.
