I wanted to post a follow-up to my on-going saga of the extra rich #1 rotor.  You can see my post below to see where I was at a week ago.  To pick up from there, I ordered 10 diodes (p/n per RWS schematic).  They arrived by UPS yesterday morning, so I raced out to the airport and installed them.  After re-setting Modes 2 and 4/5 back to the factory defaults, I attempted an engine start.  Two hits on the primer (program button) and the engine started right up and idled nicely at 900-1000 rpm.  (Keep in mind this is a P-port motor; PP motors aren't known for their low/smooth idle.)  This was a very encouraging sign!  After a little warm-up, I ran it up to around 4500 rpm with only a slight blip at staging.  I had to quit due to rain.  I went back out to the airport this morning and ran her again.  Start-up was picture-perfect.  After warm-up, I ran it to WOT with only slight tweaking of the mixture knob needed.  Up and down the rpm range, slight tweaks with Mode 9, but all in all, very smooth.  I've never had it so good!!!  Now if they would just open the airport I could go flying.

Thanks to everyone for listening to my whining and grumbing, and for all your excellent suggestions.

Mark

Hi Tracy,

Well, it looks like your hunch about the diode being bad wasn't very far from the truth.  Actually, when I started looking,  R2 & R3 both had diodes, but not R1, the diode was actually missing from R1.  If that wasn't bad enough, I also discovered that some time in the past, while changing intake designs, swapping injectors, etc., I ended up with the diodes on the secondaries instead of the primaries.  So, I just wanted to check to be sure as to how they are intended to be wired.  Can you please explain so that I can maybe get it right this time?

Thanks,
Mark
