I flew the first 40 hours with a cut down stock manifold. I had a lighter one made with a more blended airflow for the middle and rear ports. Dennis H is flying the stock manifold and probably several others. Bobby

Thanks for the helpful feedback Bobby.
Do you or anyone else have real time on a Renesis with the stock manifold with EGT's?

One inch or less is all you can get for the rear rotor. Just locate it where it's protected from the front rotor exhaust. Aircraft Spruce has probes with weld on fittings. Probe position / orientation for rotor 2, rear rotor is limited. I think mounting it on the bottom is about the only option with the stock manifold. The inner tubes float so drill a large enough hole to allow for the movement. Weld the fitting to the outer shell. Bobby

Hi Guys

For a Renesis engine using the original manifold how would I best go about fitting EGT's.
My thoughts were to plumb the two outside exhaust ports approx 1" from the flange using a steel threaded weld on.
Questions:
1. Given its a Renesis is 1" a reasonable distance.
2. Most EGT's appear to clamp on, can I get thread in probes and from where.
3. Orientation of the probes?

Thanks
