Chrissi,

You may want to check out the Honda "SR20 power steering pulley" to
use as an oversized alternator pulley.  I used two of these for a
while until I switched to the Renesis water pump and crank pulleys.
They are 4" OD.  They have splines in the shaft bore that will need to
be removed, but other than that, they worked fine.  They are steel, so
they are bit heavier than their aluminum counterparts.  I bought mine
off ebay for < $20.

Its a work in progress. Finished up to the point of everything on the hot
side. As we said earlier it will be a complete solution, not something that
is  going to leave you with having to figure out the other half on your own.
In our  case this has meant effective implementation and mounting of the
alternator(s).  We are also using the renesis water pump which adds several
new wrinkles to the  mix.

-even with underdrive e-shaft pulleys you will be considerably overdiving
any automotive alternator in cruise. Our calculations worked out the need
for a  4" diameter alternator pulley(s), confirming Mark's choice.
Unfortunately Mark's  chosen vendor has discontinued the pulley. We were not
able to
find another  vendor making a 4"OD/15mm ID so we had our preferred vendor
(us)
make them since  we needed 2 for our engine, 2 for the spare and 2 for the
show mockup.

-The Samarai alternator fits on the renesis mounting boss but the pivot
bolt is smaller, Rather than drill out the alternator the boss should get
bushed  out with stainless bushings. This aligns the alternator with the
water
pump. The  alternator is flopped over to the cold side, this improves the
wrap of the belt  and lowers the top profile.

-the renesis alternator/WP combination does not align with e-shaft pulley
by something less than an inch. We are machining a spacer to move the whole
WP  assy out the needed distance and all pulleys will be aligned. We have a
few  renesis front covers to work out the CNC tool path for separating the
WP housing  from the front cover. Its sort of a hairy job to do with a large
bandsaw and a  couple of hours with a die grinder to clean them up. If you
have renesis front  covers available we would be interested in buying them
to
use as cores.

-This will determine the placement of the second alternator over on the
cold side running off of the forward e-shaft pulley. Then we can machine the
new  side mount for the second alternator. The mount will be available in
two
configurations, one for a single alternator installation using the eshaft
pulley  closest to the front cover and in this dual alternator configuration
using the  other pulley.

-finally this will determine what room is left for the plenum and throttle
body on the cold side. Convoluted getting there huh?

-availability. Going to make it a priority over the winter to make some,
also have the gasket for a 20B to work out the flange for it.

-Beta testers; ever notice they don't call them Crash Test Dummies in
aviation?

I saw their manifold at Airventure and it's a work of  art!

I posted this publicly to try to get their egos going. =D I  was in the
hangar today looking at my intake, just under half done, and  saying
"wow, I really don't want to finish this now that I've seen what  the
Girrrls have coming..."
