What would be the best/cheap way to get a sound intensity reading?

Got the engine running again today.  No oil on the driveway this time
(Yeah!).  But the wife is complaining on Facebook whenever it is time
for a tuning session. (Boo!!)  I think I'm going to give Jeff's idea a try.
