Isn't this very similar to the one that brought Mistral's Cherokee test
plane down?

I wonder how it would perform if there were four reinforced 1/2" holes
drilled in the front transition, such that a small amount of exhaust
energy could escape that way, and ram pressure could pull in cool air to
mix with the hot, supersonic exhaust.
