Personally, I wouldn't use any muffler that has parts inside it that could (will) break off and possibly plug the exit.  This is what happened to the Mistral rotary which resulted in an off-field landing into trees.  

The attach method should be two overlapping tabs with matching holes for the bolt.  That way the bolt won't be subjected to the exhaust heat.

Note there are holes right at the transition outlet flare to ease pressure at that point.

Inlet has a deflector to force exhaust to exit through multiple holes in the tailpipe insert.
