I tried usin= g one of these.  I know my situation is different, in that I'm using a= generator, not an alternator.  The issue I ran up against is that the= regulator could not sense the bus voltage, and never turned on.  It l= east, that is what I suspect the problem was.  I wasn't getting any vo= ltage out of the regulator with the SSR installed.  I replaced it with a fu= sible link, and now everything works just fine.
