Instant-on starters ... what do Golf-Carts use ?

For a compact, low-profile alternator have a Google for Wind Turbines - =
there are some fairly simple Permanent-Magnet designs out there. The =
electronics could be simple .. a full-wave rectifier, followed by a =
switched-mode regulator - all solid-state & rugged as heck.

I think it would be the ultimate in compactness and weight reduction =
