Hi Bobby,
The cutaway drawing I saw shows the “Vs”
welded to two spiral strips that are then inserted into the muffler. That
is why I was wondering about the marks on the outside of the muffler. The
4 inch inlet on a 4 inch diameter muffler would lead one to believe that you
could weld the “Vs” up inside a pipe and produce a muffler.
How would one weld up inside the pipe
anyway???

I am trying to understand how the DNA
muffler is made and how it might work.
In looking at the sales brochure they
have, I do not see how the welding beads in the shape of a “V” get
placed in a spiral around the muffler. The cutaway view doesn’t
show them at all. Additionally, there is a hole about 1 inch in diameter
at one end of the muffler. Is this just a SS tube that goes thru the
muffler and is attached on each outside skin? It would partially block
the outlet of the muffler it seems to me??
Would the gasses have to expand inside a
larger volume than the exhaust pipe in order for it to work? Could you
just insert this spiral apparatus up inside an exhaust pipe and get a result?
Could someone who has one describe
it? It looks like it would be fairly easy to build if someone had a
welding rig and knew how to use it??

Does anybody know why they aren't going to sell them here
anymore?

I just paid $100 Canadian ($105 US - can you believe this?). The
company still has a few left in stock. If interested, my contact is Colleen
Porter, colleen@tunedproducts.com

Bill,
Best I recall, the model I purchased was about $110. It is built
like a Sherman
tank. It takes a lick'n and keeps on tick'n.

Mark, do you recall how much they were getting for them? I

You better grab the 3.5" unit while it is still available.
You can get a reducer from Burns Stainless.

Here is a response from the people who make the DNA mufflers.
Apparently they are discontinuing distribution of the muffler and it is
no longer available in the USA,
for all practical purposes.

Hi Steve,
We don't offer the Full Throttle Muffler in a 2.5" inlet, the smallest is
3", but I only have 3.5" & 4" in stock. You could use
a reducer for the 3.5
to 2.5 but you would have to get that from a muffler shop. You won't find
the mufflers in the US
as we are not actively pursuing manufacturing or
distribution of these mufflers. We are selling down the inventory that we
have, but we are not producing any mufflers at this time - the demand is
just not there.

Is it possible to get a Full Throttle Muffler with a 2 1/2 inch
inlet/outlet? If not, do you have a transition piece to move from 2 1/2
inch to 3 inch? Also, I'm having a hard time finding much of a selection
of
DNA mufflers at the locations listed on your dealer list. I'm in the USA,
and would like to find an internet site that has a wide selection of your
products. Thanks.
