Jarrett,
=0A
&nbs= p;
=0A
Had some relief from my day = job Thursday afternoon and was able to spend a precious few
=0A<= DIV>hours at my hangar..............Bolted my spare Lycoming "Dyna-focal" m= ount ring to the "Mistral"
=0A
"Backplate" and proceeded to d= o some serious manual measurements to see if the "Renesis"
=0A
wat= er-pump housing/pump cartridge can be integrated onto the "Mistral" "Backpl= ate"............
=0A

=0A
= I have identified 4 problems at this time.......... None that cannot b= e easily fixed............
=0A

=0A
(1) First as I = thought the left most  water-pump housing /stud (looking forward from = cockpit) has
=0A
a slight interfere= nce with the top left mount retainer cup........This retainer can be reliev= ed slightly
=0A
and a small re-enf= orcing patch welded without any loss of structural integrity.............=0A

=0A
(2) The "Lycoming" mount ring I have (obtai= ned from "Aircraft Spruce" prewelded) will have to
=0A
=      have the top tubing cross-member removed and repla= ced as it needs a higher "Bow" in the
=0A
&= nbsp;  tube and placed at a different angle to clear the pump hou= sing and revised inlet/outlet for
=0A
=    coolant........It might be better to buy the mount ring as an = unwelded kit from A/C Spruce....
=0A

=0A
(3) The c= oolant inlet and outlet of the stock "Renesis" pump housing has to be = repositioned
=0A
when it is "Marrie= d" to the "Mistral" back-plate because it is aimed directly at the top= left
=0A
mount retainer.....= .....Will leave that "Magic" to you Jarrett...............<:) =0A

=0A
(4) There will need to be 1 extra stud hole dr= illed from the married "Renesis" pump housing
=0A
= ;     through the re-engineered "Mistral" hsg that mate= s up with a threaded boss in the 93-99
=0A
   = ;  13BREW , Cosmo 13B & 20B and Renesis front side hsg............= ....This boss does not
=0A
exist on the = 86-91 13B which the "Mistral" back-plate was designed for...........
= =0A

=0A
These are t= he major things I have identified so far and I am sure there will be o= thers...... I still
=0A
do not know what exactly to do about the r= emovable front cover of the "Mistral" hsg........Whether
=0A
to tr= y and retain a smaller cover by eliminating the auxiliary drive portio= n of the cover or just to do
=0A
a simplified  copy (ea= sier to cast compared to the pressure cast "Renesis" hsg) of the cente= r
=0A
part of the "Renesis" hsg to try and retain the EFI/IGN= sensor mount..........
=0A

=0A
=     Enough for now...........This will give you some info to= mull over.................I will try to get a few
=0A
photos to = illustrate some of what is above.............
=0A
.
