I am certain Dave Staten will jump in to correct me, but I believe the Mistral Intake we got was priced in the low $2000.00 range plus shipping from the Continent.

When Mistral presented the opportunity to get the intake several years ago we jumped at it.  The intake was the one major missing link in the rotary conversion that was not already really available "off the shelf".  At the time Bruce Turintine had stated he wanted to introduce an intake but it turned into vapor ware.

While both Dave and I are pretty bright and have developed skills, the idea of fabricating an efficient intake was most likely beyond us.

I would very much like to see a more readily available "off the shelf" intake on the market.  I dislike the fact that if something were to happen to my current one I have no place to turn.  Yeah, I know the odds of an intake (at least this type) failing is slim, I still feel a bit trapped.

I may even be inclined to by a back up.

Chris

Jarrett,

I’m certainly interested in a manifold.  I recall the mistral one going for quite a lot.  Obviously the more you can sell, the less you have to ask for them.

What sort of investment is required to produce say ten units?  I’m thinking 5-700 dollars(sales price), but then again, I like a bargain.  Also it depends on how much profit you feel you need to make.

I hope I haven’t insulted you.  But I have no clue as to how much goes into cooking up one of these.

I have a Renesis if you’re looking for a test bed.

So it's possible that I've missed the question [I'm a bit behind on my emails] but is there a market for a Mistral type intake manifold system?  I'm in the process of finalizing a casting furnace and foundry setup and have been looking at various projects in and around rotary engines. Intake manifolds have been at the top of the list. I own the needed CNC equipment to build the molds and patterns for a project of this level, it's always just been a issue of time to dedicate to the project.

Recently I was given an opportunity to have more time to do on projects like this [stop working two jobs and have multiple days off to do stuff like this with a reasonably flexible schedule]

I'm curious as to the demand for a reasonably priced manifold? [Also, in the end customers mind, what would be 'reasonably priced'?]

Best Regards

Jarrett Johnson
