I'll be right there with ya Ed, trying to make one of these work.... IF they can actually release the engine in the next few years.  It's been a long wait so far.  They announced this thing in 2007 yet nothing so far and precious few details about the engine other than pure speculation.

I'm curious where you got that picture below.  I haven't seen anything from the auto shows and their website has the same little flash overview its' had for the last few years so any new info is welcome!  Specifically for us airplane builders it's all about HP & weight ;)

Mazda claims that the 16X will have double the torque (at all rpm) and better fuel economy at high engine speeds.  The Renesis claimed a 20% fuel improvement - but it appeared that was to be found at lower rpm than we operate at.  So hopefully the 16X will be kinder at our rpm range.
