Tom, I have an early Marcotte PSRU on a 13B Mazda in a Wittman Tailwind and it has so far been a real DUD.  The pilot bearing was a bushing which didn't work out.  It was replaced with a needle bearing that couldn't stand torisional movement of the crankshaft and the PSRU input shaft, this design has now been replaced by a double bearing arrangement on the input shaft to eliminate the pilot bearing.  Twice I have lost the oil, 80W, first time due to a vent tank for expansion, the second time the output shaft seal fell out due to the aluminum case expanding faster that the seal, resulting in a fire at 4000 AGL at 190 MPH resulting in a bad landing in a wheat field.   I have had no luck contacting Marcotte about getting any information on the redrive and all I know about all the problems I have read in the Contact Magazine, so in my opinion it is a true field test operation and buyer beware.  JohnD

Has anyone on this list had any experience or is using the Marcotte PSRU with constant Speed  Prop option ? If not are there any solutions to the Hydraulic prop governor out there? Thanks

Kid Regards
