You mean a cost/benefits comparison?
The supercharger would have the same belts/pulleys/sideload drawback that the alternator has. Not a major issue except for weight. It also has the control mechanism and cooling complexity of a turbo. Installation (at least for my installation) would not be as streamlined.
The benefit of a supercharger would be the ability to get major boost out of it. I'm not even hoping to get that sort of mind blowing boost for vertical takeoffs.
