I am patiently waiting (kinda) for the return of my hoses from a friends A/C A/C (aircraft air conditioning) shop in AZ.

A few months ago while cranking up the power a bit on the rotary, I looked back a moment from the cabin and notice a huge black slick under my engine. Yep, sure enough, I had lost a hose.

Upon inspection, the culprit was me....in that the hose had slipped out of the fitting. I looked at the end that slipped out and I had done a piss poor job of assembly. I did notice it to be one of my early attempts. However, the incident got me quite concerned about the other dozen or so hoses I had made. It really became a bit of an intellectual distraction.

So, since I had to remove the engine several days ago to repair the cause of an oil pressure loss, I removed all the hoses from my plane and sent them to this friends shop (Seamech) to have them all pressure tested. Happily they all passed pressure testing well past what they should ever see. The test were performed by real live certified by the FAA types....quite the uncommon experience for my planes parts ;-0

You can see a few pix of the hoses on the test table/rig by linking to the CanardAviation forum at

Since I can have a knack for the obvious, I am really pleased that I took this step. With all the work we do majoring in minor details, this one will hopefully add to some piece of mind.

The hoses are at the FedEx facility here in Houston. Since today is Saturday, do not expect them to be delivered until Monday....then, on with the Saga.
