Household plumbing supply valves in bronze with stainless balls and composite seats rated for Gas/Oil or water are less expensive based on liability recovery claims, not on functionality. They are heavy as a down side but perform perfectly. Probably half the cost of any Andair valve is for liability insurance. The Andair also provides multiple functions, such as Left, Right and Both and other combinations while the household valve is just on, or off. Lynn E.
