Yeah, Lynn, it's my redrive. A one off that could be considered a re-design of the Ross units. The piece in the rear is the bellhousing, a large aluminum casting. I sold that part off to another builder and built a mounting plate closer to what RWS sells.
The propeller bolts up to a NASCAR wheel hub (front left, right behind the input shaft) with the very stout axle bolted to the gearbox. The input shaft drives the planets, and a free floating shaft transfers power from the carrier directly to the prop, so that if the shaft breaks the prop will windmill freely. Gear ratio is 3.17.
