Marcotte Redrive, ration 25 x 51. =20 1st hour =20 engine rpm 5600 max prop is Fred Felix 67 x 70, bi-cambered water temp 190 oil temp 192 fuel press 42 ex temp 1600 MAP 28.5 OAT 76 air speed indicated 163 =20 2nd hour =20 engine rpm 5800 At .7 hr into flight the engine was picking up rpm so I throttled back 100 rpm's and tuned the A/F=20 water temp 185 mixture and the engine picked rpm to 5800 rpm again. The engine must be breaking in and it was oil tem 170 running real nice, VVI was indicating climb of 200 feet per minute. At this point the Marcotte Redrive fuel press 42 started to vibrate so I throttled back to 2000rpm on the engine, by this time I could smell 80w and=20 ex temp 1600 smoke. I did a 360 turn and I'm flying in the only cloud for 100 miles. It doesn't give you a fuzzy warm feeling going 190 mph and having a fire at 4000 feet AGL. My landing was less than stellar MAP 27 so will have to repair the plane next winter. I should have been reading between the lines in the=20 OAT 60 Contact Magazine and replaced the redrive before flight, when it failed the front seal fell out and the=20 air speed indicated 190 80W followed. =20 Thanks to all you folks for you assistance in getting the engine running real nice.
