I took some window modling (curved on one side) shaped wood pieces and make two pieces to run down each side of the gear (stream lined into the wind flow), then I wrapped them with fiberglass to stiffen them. It was more to prevent shimmy than anything else but I noticed it reduce the wiggle and waggle on landing and taxi as well. Van used to recommend doing that. But later stiffer gear apparently reduced the need for it.
