I couldn’t help but chuckle after this exchange with ATC while on VFR fight following approaching the Tehachapi mountains north of Los Angeles:

 

“Velocity 55 victor; numerous aircraft at various altitudes, 3 miles on your heading – likely sailplanes”

 

“Ah-h-h; I’ll be looking; can you be more specific? 55victor.”

 

No response; never did see anything.
