The water pump and front cover account for the lighter weight of the Renesis compared to the 2nd gen 13B. However, the design of the Renesis pump is stone-age crude by comparison. The impeller is a simple bent piece of sheet metal. The 2nd gen pump has a cast and machined scroll impeller that looks like a work of art by comparison. Looks can be deceiving however. I have no data on the actual performance. The Renesi= s pump is undoubtedly lighter than the 2nd gen pump cartridge.=A0 The water= pump and front cover account for the lighter weight of the Renesis compare= d to the 2nd gen 13B.
However,=A0 the design of the Renesis pump is stone-age crude by comparison= .=A0 The impeller is a simple bent piece of sheet metal.=A0 The 2nd gen pum= p has a cast and machined scroll impeller that looks like a work of art by = comparison.

Mark /Kelly,
I believe the Renesis is a much improv= ed version of=20 the 13B pump, but can't remember the reasons. I assume it is partly bec= ause of=20 the impeller and partly because of the tolerances between the impellor and = the=20 pump housing ( being a close tolerance).
Do you have any info on the impellor/ = tolerances=20 etc.=A0
George ( down under)
Kel= ly,=A0

Keep in mind that I'm comparing it to a 20B water pump, not a 13= B water=20 pump. =A0The 20B pump (housing & cartridge, no pulley) weighs 11.8 lb= s.=20 =A0The Renesis pump & housing after being cut off the front cover is= =20 4.5 lbs. =A0So, I potentially can save over 7 lbs. =A0The big question=20 is if the Renesis WP flow is enough water to cool the 20B. =A0

At present, I'm still gathering parts for the conversion, so I&#= 39;m=20 currently running the stock 20B pump.=A0

Any idea what the Meziere pump weighs? =A0You'll need to add the= =20 weight of brackets too. =A0The Renesis pump will fit onto the front cover= =20 same as the stock pump... well, with a few minor mods.
