The problem I have with a belt driven unit is the bearings and
pulley - they increase the width and make it hard to fit between the engine
and motor. Attaching the fan to the crankshaft pulley solves that
problem if a fan can be found that will produce the needed air flow at our
design rpm. Plus one of the largest leaf blowers new is less than
$500. Can't buy much of a turbo for that price!
