I think Tracy recommends synthetic oil because of the gearbox. Could be wrong.
In that case, whatever will keep the gearbox alive will work fine in the rotary. And a synthetic is a good choice, and there is your excuse to use it. Tracy needs it in his gear box.
Its not your fault. There was nothing you could do, but use a synthetic.
I would premix the fuel or alter the OMP to use 2 cycle oil from a remote bottle. There may be some modern synthetics that burn cleanly (maybe). That would be a very nice discovery for OMP users.
