Thanks Al for your input. Do you remember the wall thickness of the 5/8 tubes by any chance. Also I think I remember that you had someone make your intake manifold. If that is true could I hire him to make one for me? If so, what was his name and number?

Sorry, I don’t know the wall thickness of the tubes.  The box section bed rails are .049; and I’m just going the guess the tubes are the same.  If I were you I’d be going after it with the ¾”, .049 wall that you have.

 

The manifold was made by Cliff Manzke; cmanzke@cox.net. The manifold is a bit of a challenge, and cost me about $1800 back when Cliff was working out of his garage and charging me $25/hr.  Now he has his own machine shop, and the rate is probably more than double.  But you can always ask him.  It is a thing of beauty (see photo).
