Does anyone have any suggestions about tubing size for my 300hp 20B? I have made several mounts for my Ford V6 in my BD4. That has given me lots of experience making mounts for up to 200hp. But what about 300hp? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Any decent mount design can be handled by 1/2"x.035 tube, but you would be foolish to use that. It is to prone to taking a ding from a dropped hand tool. Use at least 1/2"x.049. I have a two pieces of 3/4"x.069, but they are only about 4" long, and they are under intense compression. Each point you connect to the engine should be triangulated. Three tubes connecting to solid mounts as far apart as possible. Have to load carried directly to the wheels if possible.

The big tube in the center is the carrier for the nose gear.
