At some point, Al Wick posted this link somewhere, and the Cozygirls have reposted it on the Canard listserv..
It is the story of a homebuilder who essentially (and through ignorance) committed suicide in an airplane. And it wasn't for a lack of concerned friends or vendors. I cringed repeatedly through the factual finding from the NTSB.
Poor workmanship, lack of attention to detail, inability to read/follow/understand directions/manuals and an "end justifies the means" attitude all formed a perfect storm. I give thanks that if he was inevitably doomed, he went out by himself the day before he was going to tote a planeload of family to Boston.
Read.
Learn.
Don't go there..
