Thanks, I will try to torque it down more.  My concern was that I was making it too tight, but now that I remember that we are running at higher oil pressure than my '65 289 Mustang etc. So I will crank it on down and see if'n that helps.

You lube the gasket with oil when you install and only hand tighten it.  Should not be a problem.  Any thoughts?  I have had this with the last two filters.  The current one being a K&N...the previous an STP. Thanks for your kind attention.

I use only both hands, but I can get things really tight. The wrenching nut on the can is cute but not strong enough to use for tightening. I use two K&Ns on a dual filter stand. Raced for years that way using 100 to 110 PSI, and never a leak. Lynn E. Hanover
