Last night I tried more tuning, documenting below. As always, feedback and guidance is most appreciated.

** In an effort to keep my Mixture Indicator-speak understandable, the Mixture Indicator has 16 levels in two rows of the EM2 LCD display (two blocks of 8 levels, on a top the other). So when I refer to MI 10/16 it means just over one half of the full display of MI.  I have to say my eyes cannot see the actual, tiny levels in the discrete segments of the LCD when sitting in the cockpit. I cannot get my face that close to the panel while sitting in the bird.

General Info: engine low idles around 1600 rpm, warms up in a few minutes with EGT climbing to around 850. I waited until warm before raising RPM/MAP much higher. Once warm the Mixture Indicator clearly tracks the
changes I make in the Mixture Knob. Engine runs smoothly above 2000 RPM.
Between 1600 and 2000 RPM I usually have to have full rich, or almost full rich, Mixture Knob position to have it run smoothly. Otherwise it is quite rough.  At no time or MAP/RPM settings am I seeing black smoke (which I think could indicate too much fuel, or too rich).

Also, during this session at one point I went to max throttle position. The max RPMs were around 5400, which is very close to the recommended Maximum RPM settings of 5500/5600 for my engine/prop. I take that as a good sign in that my prop is adjusted reasonably close for initial tuning purposes. At least that's my un-expert interpretation ;)

=== MODE 3 - ran engine up to MAP 22 (approx 4800 RPM), adjusted mixture knob for strong running engine. Mixture
Indicator read around 12/16. Final injector setting was at 183 .

I did still see what I thought was a rapid changing of the MI level. I could turn the Mixture Knob very
slowly and the MI would change fairly smoothly.

Here is an example: The engine is running well, MI at 12/16, Mixture Knob at 1200.
If I had the Program Knob at 0900, and pushed the STORE Button ONE time, the MI would drop to about 4/16.
If I turned the Program Knob to 0300 and pushed the STORE Button one time, the MI would rise back to 12/16.

It just seemed like a big jump for a single push. It appeared that the Mixture Knob could make finer adjustments of the mixture, and I would not see such larger increases or decreases if I turned that
Mixture Knob slowly.

=== MODE 2 - I have to say this mode baffles me. But here goes. I lowered the RPM to 1600, lowest throttle setting. To make the engine run smooth I have the Mixture Knob at full rich position. So using the instructions in the manual:

"if you must make a Large Rich Mixture knob movement to smooth out then you should decrease injector dynamic range".

OK, I am at full rich, so using the Program Knob and Store button, I decreased. But I had a hard time telling if anything was really happening or not. I was NOT able to get the Mixture Knob back to 1200 to make the engine run smoothly at this lowest RPM. Moving it to that position made the engine run rough.

=== MODE 1 - I am not completely sure I have the first two Mode steps done correctly, but I thought I would go into Mode 1/EM2 Track Mode and see what the MAP table programming looked like. Experiment, and maybe learn something. And see if I could make some reasonable changes.

I see the MAP settings in the low MAP/RPM range are almost uniformly set to +127 .  Now what has me confused is that even when these are all at +127 I still have to have the Mixture Knob at full Rich to keep the engine running fairly smoothly. In other words, there is no further increases I can make to the MAP table values to help balance the Mixture Knob back to 1200.

???Is this because the Mode 3 Injector flow is too low????

Anyway, my low end MAP value seems to be around 8.8, and up to 12.8. It appears that right around MAP 13 the EC2 switches to another section of the table. I went from a MAP position of 37 to 71. I do not recall seeing MAP table values in the 40/50/60's . It just jumped from 37 to 71 with minimal throttle change.

Also, this second set of MAP table values at 71 and above seem to be all set with MAP values of 0, instead of the +127

I am not sure where to go from here regarding the low RPM MAP and Mixture programming values. Like I said earlier it does not seem like I have 'anything left' to increase on the low end MAP table values. I know I need to get my engine "low RPM" to lower values, through the leak tests suggested earlier.

Thanks for any input,
