Last night I got some tail-dragger taxi instruction and
finally a few circuits in my Rotary powered 2+2; it was great, the experience that
is, my stick and rudder work needs some improvement. Last time we flew it was 5F,
yesterday it was 56F. The oil temp climbed to 220F by circuit altitude and the
water was at 200F, so the installation is not ideal yet. The oil cooler outlet
plenum can be opened more and the radiator air intake can be sealed better to
the lower cowling … have to do both before next flight … looking
forward to both challenges.
