Hi, Rusty....regarding the skinny metal, I assume you are = referring=20 to the EWP.

No, = I was joking=20 about having a skinny metal RV-3 to fit this all=20 in.

Do you have the Meziere=20 pumps?

Nope, I've = got two=20 Davies Craig pumps.

It does sound logical to go with = the two=20 EWP's and dump the mechanical pump. Save weight , have redundancy, and = not rob=20 precious horsepower from the engine.

All valid = points of=20 course.  The other thing to consider is the incredible reliability = of the=20 mechanical water pump, and the fact that it's 100% = proven.  Tracy=20 often points this out, and he's right.  As long as you can keep the = belt=20 on, the pump itself almost can't fail=20 catastrophically.  Adding an EWP in series gives = extra flow=20 that can be turned off and on, eliminates cavitation issues at = higher RPM,=20 and provides a backup pump in case the belts go flying.  I can = easily look=20 at this as gaining redundancy, and performance for only two = pounds.  Sounds=20 like a bargain.

Eventually, once I'm=20 convinced that the EWP is rock solid, and reliable, I could = remove the=20 stock pump, and add the second EWP.  With the turbo, I already have = more HP=20 than I should, so the extra few HP gained by removing the = mechanical pump=20 is a non-issue.

I do like the adapter plate that = Meziere=20 has for the rotary engine.  Did I say I like bolt-ons?   = Take=20 care.  Paul Conner

I used to = like bolt-on's=20 a bit too much, which is why I have (had- that sounds = better) a=20 big ugly cowl.  I should have taken the time to do it right the = first=20 time.  You seem to be smarter than I was, since you've chucked=20 the intake from Atkins, and fabricated a new one that fits the = cowl. =20 I'm paying for my impatience with the rev=20 2 redo.

Cheers,
Rusty (no = longer=20 going to Delray Beach- = thankfully)
