Where do you flying guys set the manifold pressure when on approach in the pattern?  I would assume somewhere between 15 to 20 inches??  What does that give you in RPM?  I assume you are approaching at about 90 knots?

Most of my flying with the Velocity 20B is between about 16-21” MAP. That may be equivalent to about 17-23 on other installations as my MAP pickup is near the ports.  On downwind I’m probably somewhere around 16”; haven’t paid attention (that’s about 4000 rpm and 100kts, and on final maybe 13” or less.  With this slippery airplane I’d say at some point on an approach the throttle is closed and MAP is 9-10”, and the prop is my air-brake.
