Chief, static electricity is not
horsefeathers, 40 years ago I watched a $500,000 cracking tower burn down in the
gas field, which was set off by the attaching of a static wire, which was SOP,
but a concentration of propane at ground level did it. I always use a
static wire on fueling, but nothing is positively fool proof.

Has anyone actually put a meter to your
hose-tank assembly prior to grounding just to see if this is real or
horsefeathers? A digital volt meter has such a low ohms/volt ratio that you
would be able to get a reading before the voltage bled off thru the meter.
Assuming a static spark is mostly voltage and almost no current. Anyway
it's a thought.
