The muffler is sausage shaped with a semi-flat top and bottom.  Google Hushpower 2 and you can see pictures.  Maybe you have an earlier model.

Mark, the photo of your hushpower II appears to be round in appearance, the one I have is rectangle shape and doesn't have any packing in it, only two perforated cones pointing towards the center of the muffler.  Is it a round profile?  JohnD
