Mark;
You're exactly right.  We are building a small sump tank that will receive the oil from Tracy's PRSU, and the turbo, and then it pumps back to the engine.  Bob's really good with dry sump systems, so we're pretty confident that this will be a good fix.  There will be a lot of oil in this system considering the size of the cooler, twin filters, sump tank, and the plumbing.  Should make w/b interesting.

Greg,

She wanted a backseat so she would have space to put her shopping bags.  Go figure!

I have a question concerning the placement of your turbo.  It looks like it will be lower than the oil sump.  Are you planning on using a pump to get the oil back to the sump?  Tom Parkes had trouble with the drain on his turbo 3-rotor Lancair ES and had to install a secondary pump.  Thought I would ask...

Hey Mark;
Yeah, I have been following that thread, should be interesting when I go to get a quote, with the horsepower I am looking at.  As for needing 4 places vs. 2, about 90% of my flying is solo,  so if I need 4 places, I'll rent a spam can.....(:-)

Greg,

Excellent choice on airframes.  The Legacy would have been my first choice, but I was out-voted by the wife who wanted a 4-place.  Have you been following the LML thread concerning insurance?  I'm insured with AIG but they have gotten much tougher on who they will insure beginning in 2009.  I go through Skysmith Insurance agency so they're not tied to AIG, but AIG had the best quote.

Hey Mark;
It's going into a Legacy, and other than it's a Garrett, I don't remember the model number.  I'll check back in my paperwork and get that to you.

Hi Greg,

Nice setup.  What type Lancair is that going into?  What model turbo did you use?

Thought I would sneak in a couple more.  Getting excited here.  The collector and sched. 321 is from Burns, had a lot of fun with that.....
