Does he have a website, is he on this list, where does he live (would like to visit and see his plenum)? I agree on importance of plenum - & exit. I'm in final stage of negotiation with Van's "special order finish kits" and Van's cowl vendor, M&W Fiberglass 503-538-0101 Mike (or Jerry/Gary), to get a RV-6 cowl with only 1 hole - for prop/spinner, i.e., no holes for Lyc fin cooling and no scoop below for carb induction. - Plan to mount 2 a/c cores below engine for nearly "straight through" air flow, with best plenum & exit I can design, starting witht the "blank sheet of paper"/"blank cowl" and cut my own holes and epoxy on my own fiberglass ducts into and out of the radiators. - To have room under engine, psru, and eng mount, currently plan to use "Haywire" S. Todd Bartrim's mounting method. -- Todd, can you send me the dwg files for you 4 "sub-mounts" that attach to the engine? - Since I'm a taildragger and not planning on floats and skiis like Todd, I won't have any nosegear mounting hardware on my engine mount, freeing up space where I want the a/c cores. - Am in early stages of coordinating my special engine mount design with Van's vendor Custom Components, Bruce McIntire, 253-272-5554 in Tacoma, Washington. I think he did Todd's.
