Sounds like a great project Ken, always did like my Skymaster spamcan.  Like any Cessna, the outer couple feet of wing just goes along for the drag while at cruise.
Think some VG's around the  lower rear fuselage should get rid of some of the drag too.
But then again, a twin engine Cozy looks awfully inviting...

There was a canard plane with an extra engine in the nose
 at Arlington about 8 years ago. They were regular airplane
engines. I think that was the same year I met Ken Welter
there. Do you remember the plane Ken?
