Check the internet for "Electroless Nickel Plating aluminum". If a shop in a small town knows of it and can do it - I think your guys either didn't understand what you wanted - OR - didn't want to mess with a small job. You didn't say "Airplane" did you?? {:>) Here are just a few I found (below) - there are many more. My nickel plated RWS redrive has continued to look a nice golden tone and none of that surface discoloration that can make aluminum look ugly. There are, of course, other plating approaches - but, I found they do not protect as well and are more expensive. http://charlotteplating.com/ http://www.caswellplating.com/kits/electroless.htm (You'll like this one - a diy kit) http://www.pfonline.com/articles/pfd0024.html http://www.pfonline.com/articles/079906.html http://www.nickeltech.com/ Ed Ed Anderson Rv-6A N494BW Rotary Powered Matthews, NC eanderson@carolina.rr.com http://www.andersonee.com http://members.cox.net/rogersda/rotary/configs.htm#N494BW http://www.dmack.net/mazda/index.html ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ernest Christley" To: "Rotary motors in aircraft" Sent: Monday, May 05, 2008 2:50 PM Subject: [FlyRotary] Nickel plating > Ed, you had your PSRU nickel plated, didn't you? > > I just got off the phone with Precision Alloys in Raleigh, NC.
